After the initial evaluation, our skilled Foreman, Gamalier, led the repair team to execute the crack stitching repair method. The process began by cutting the cracks in non-parallel cuts to prepare for the installation of the carbon fiber stitching system. The team then installed super high-strength carbon fiber laminates into the cuts and adhered them with low viscosity polyurea. This innovative approach, which is faster and more cost-effective than traditional steel dowels, provided a robust repair for the concrete cracks.

Next, the team filled the cracks and the area around the carbon fiber slits with super low viscosity polyurea. Once the polyurea was set, they ground the area smooth, ensuring a seamless finish. Foundation Inspection in Saint Johns, AZ Sparks Home Foundation Repair: A Before-and-After Foundation Repair Story

In Saint Johns, AZ, Rebecca began noticing unsettling signs in her home: horizontal cracks snaked along basement walls, floor tiles in the utility room tilted at odd angles, and doors that once closed smoothly now jammed. Each morning brought fresh anxiety—would the foundation shift further overnight? The sight of gaps opening beneath window frames and a tilting chimney sparked real safety concerns, while the thought of declining property value added financial stress. Temporary fixes, like shimming doors and filling cracks with caulk, offered only brief relief, leaving Rebecca haunted by “what if” scenarios.

The Search for a Solution

Determined to find a permanent fix, Rebecca researched online, attended local home shows, and consulted contractors. Many offered concrete resurfacing or patching services—quick cosmetic repairs that couldn’t address underlying settlement. Others recommended DIY polymer injections or DIY pier kits, but none inspired confidence. Foundation repair is a specialized field requiring precise diagnosis and engineered solutions. Temporary “band-aid” methods risked leaving Rebecca with recurring issues and mounting costs. She needed a partner with proven expertise and robust warranties.

Why Arizona Foundation Solutions?

A friend’s recommendation led Rebecca to Arizona Foundation Solutions. Their reputation for honest, detailed inspections and willingness to answer tough questions stood out. During the free evaluation, a Supportworks-trained specialist conducted a comprehensive foundation inspection, identifying settlement caused by expansive clay subsoils typical of the region. Rebecca learned about a variety of warrantied foundation repair products—slab piers, push piers, and helical piers—each custom-designed for different soil conditions and load requirements. The promise of a 25-year manufacturer’s warranty plus Arizona Foundation Solutions’ own performance guarantee sealed her trust.

The Repair Process

On June 23, 2025, the in-house crew mobilized to Rebecca’s property, armed with seven push piers and all necessary permits in hand. Push piers feature a patent-pending external sleeve that strengthens the critical tension point below the bracket. Installed next to the footings and attached with heavy-duty galvanized-steel brackets, they provide the best opportunity to lift a home back to its original position—even when soil conditions are unknown.

Site Preparation & Excavation

Technicians saw-cut the existing slab in the utility room, excavating an 18″ square pit 20″ deep. Jagged edges of old cream-white tile adhesive framed the hole, while poly sheeting protected adjacent walls.

Pier Installation

Each push pier shaft was driven through the clay subsoil to stable strata, transferring the home’s load to solid ground. Galvanized-steel bracket plates—bolted with 5/8″ hex nuts—were secured at footing level (Photo 1).

Lifting & Stabilization

Hydraulic jacks lifted settled sections back to level. Soil was backfilled around the piers to finish the installation, minimizing disturbance and ensuring long-term strength and corrosion resistance.

Surface Restoration

The pit was filled with flowable cement grout, creating a neat two-foot square patch that blended flush with existing 4×4″ beige tiles. A magnesium finishing float left a glass-smooth sheen (Photo 2).

From permit in hand on July 1 to final backfill and grout on July 2, the project progressed swiftly and efficiently, demonstrating Arizona Foundation Solutions’ commitment to fast, year-round installation.

Transformation – The After

Post-repair, Rebecca’s home stands on a stable, level foundation. Cracks have closed, floors sit perfectly flat, and doors glide without resistance. The utility room—once a site of distress—now features a seamless grout patch that matches the surrounding tile. Beyond aesthetic and functional improvements, Rebecca gained peace of mind knowing her home is protected by a comprehensive 25-year manufacturer’s warranty and Arizona Foundation Solutions’ performance guarantee. What began as a safety concern ended with a secure, structurally sound home.

Emotional Engine – The Power of Trust

Foundation issues often start small: a pinhole crack, a slightly off-kilter window. Yet waiting until late stages can lead to costly damage. Arizona Foundation Solutions builds trust through transparent assessments and education. By explaining the mechanics of helical piers, push piers, and slab piers, homeowners understand why each solution is chosen. This expertise, paired with in-house crews fully trained through Supportworks, Inc., ensures satisfaction from first call to final inspection.

New Era – A Win for Everyone

Rebecca’s home value received an immediate boost, thanks to a stable foundation and renewed curb appeal. No longer at risk of progressive settlement, she can plan future renovations—perhaps adding a deck or concrete stair—confident that helical piers and push piers will provide enduring support. Arizona Foundation Solutions continues to serve Phoenix, Tucson, Glendale, and nearby areas, helping homeowners protect their investments and avoid expensive future repairs.
