This stem wall on this Laveen, AZ home was cracking & flaking. Our expert stem wall repair crew came out and repaired the home's stem wall with our composite stem wall repair system.
The project was initiated in Laveen, Arizona, where a residential home was experiencing significant issues with its concrete stem walls. The homeowner noticed horizontal cracks on the exterior foundation walls, a common sign of rebar oxidization. If left unaddressed, these cracks would continue to spall and split, potentially compromising the structural integrity of the home.
Traditional repair methods like patching, epoxy injection, and standard rebar replacement were considered. However, these methods have a history of failing over time due to recurring oxidization and moisture buildup in the porous concrete. The homeowner needed a reliable, long-term solution to prevent further damage and ensure the safety of their home.
After:
Arizona Foundation Solutions was contacted to address the issue using their advanced Heavy Concrete Stem Wall Patch system. Brianna, the customer care representative, efficiently scheduled appointments and coordinated with the homeowner.
The unique stem wall repair system utilized by Arizona Foundation Solutions proved to be a game-changer. Unlike traditional methods, this system prevents future oxidization, offering a durable and cost-effective solution for residential homes. The once cracked and crumbling stem walls were fully restored, providing the homeowner with peace of mind and a secure foundation for years to come.

The Homeowner contacted Arizona Foundation Solutions to fix the cracks in their floor. Concrete driveway repair in Cottonwood, Arizona, is more common than people think.
In Cottonwood, AZ, a family began noticing unsettling changes in their home’s concrete surfaces. Cracks snaked across the stamped concrete floors, doors creaked and stuck in their frames, and the once-even walkway to the front door had sunken by nearly a half-inch, creating an alarming tripping hazard. What started as a minor cosmetic issue quickly turned into a daily frustration: laundry room doors refused to close properly, and stubborn weeds sprouted in the widening crevices of the driveway. With each passing week, concerns grew about safety, property value, and the specter of more extensive—yet unseen—foundation damage.
Seeking relief, the homeowners explored DIY patch kits, mortar injections, and quick-fix sealants. Yet these stopgap measures failed almost immediately: new cracks appeared, and patched areas settled again under the weight of vehicles and foot traffic. They discovered that foundation and concrete settlement issues arise when heavy slabs compress the underlying soil. Without specialized geotechnical expertise and the right materials, temporary repairs were bound to fail. Frustrated by piecemeal advice and unreliable contractors, the family realized they needed a comprehensive, professional solution.
Why Arizona Foundation Solutions?
A neighbor’s recommendation led them to Arizona Foundation Solutions (AZFS), where an expert team offered a free, no-obligation inspection. AZFS’s thorough evaluation highlighted the root causes: uneven soil compaction beneath the stamped concrete and settling around the foundation’s footings. Using PolyLevel® Injection Foam to raise settled concrete and a carbon fiber stitching system to repair foundation cracks, AZFS presented a clear, step-by-step plan. The homeowners were reassured by AZFS’s transparent process, industry certifications (including HJ3 Composites for carbon fiber repairs), and the promise of a lasting solution—rather than a mere patch.
Soil Stabilization & Lifting: Technicians injected PolyLevel® beneath sunken slabs, sidewalks, and driveway sections. This two-part geopolymer foam expanded up to 15 times its initial volume, filling voids and compacting loose soil to lift and level the concrete precisely.
Speed & Strength: Within 15 minutes of injection, the foam cured enough to support normal use, restoring safe walking and driving surfaces almost immediately. Because PolyLevel® weighs only about 4 lbs. per cubic foot—compared to 120 lbs. for traditional mudjacking materials—it placed minimal additional load on weakened soil while delivering superior lifting power.
Durability & Waterproofing: The inert, waterproof foam won’t wash away or leach chemicals, ensuring the repair remains stable through Arizona’s seasonal rains and temperature swings.
Precision Cutting & Laminate Installation: Hairline cracks in the home’s foundation were cut using non-parallel grooves. Pre-cured carbon fiber laminates were placed into the slots and bonded with a low-viscosity polyurethane, creating a structural bridge across the crack.
Minimal Disruption: Unlike bulky rebar dowels, the carbon fiber system required no heavy equipment and limited surface disturbance. After bonding, the grooves were filled and ground smooth, leaving a clean, flush finish.
High-Strength & Cost-Effective: Carbon fiber’s tensile strength—harnessed from aerospace and high-performance automotive applications—provides a more robust repair than steel reinforcement, often at a lower cost and in less time.
Throughout the process, the AZFS team maintained open communication, scheduling work around the family’s routine and ensuring the site was clean and safe at day’s end.
Just one day after work began, the once-uneven driveway, sidewalks, and stamped concrete floors were restored to perfectly level surfaces. Cracks in the foundation had vanished, replaced by unobtrusive, high-strength carbon fiber stitches. The family reported immediate relief: doors that had hung crookedly now closed effortlessly, and the hazard of tripping on sunken slabs was completely eliminated. In less than 24 hours, Arizona Foundation Solutions had lifted and leveled over 900 sq ft of concrete and performed 180 ft of crack stitching—delivering a home that felt safe, solid, and structurally sound once more.
Early intervention proved crucial. What might have become a far more expensive foundation overhaul was handled swiftly and affordably thanks to AZFS’s expertise and advanced materials. The homeowners gained not only a repaired property, but also peace of mind, knowing that their investment was protected. Arizona Foundation Solutions reinforced trust through transparent reporting, clear pricing, and visible, long-lasting results.
With the foundation and concrete issues resolved, curb appeal soared—and so did property value. The family could confidently welcome guests without worrying about trip hazards or structural failures. Meanwhile, AZFS’s work demonstrated how targeted, innovative solutions like PolyLevel® and carbon fiber stitching can extend a home’s lifespan, prevent costly future damage, and deliver safety and stability in the face of challenging soil conditions.

Composite interlocking can be performed to tie the broken pieces of the concrete together. The existing crack will be cleaned, and non-parallel lines will be cut across the existing crack. Next carbon fiber laminate stitches will be inserted into the non-parallel cuts and then the gaps will be filled with a two-part poly. Finally, the crack should be ground smooth to minimize the differential.
