Chipping of the foundation concrete
The concrete needed to be chipped out to fractured rock and 1" beyond the existing rebar.
Sand Blast and Coat Rebar
After chipping the concrete to expose the concrete, it is followed by sand blasting and coating of that existing rebar with an ion blocking epoxy. The cement patch material must have anodic inhibitors to neutralize the electrochemical currents. composite reinforcing also played a role in these repairs.
Finished Foundation Wall Repair in Fountain Hills
After all the patchwork is completed, the entire stem wall is parged with a cement slurry. Painting although more appealing is discouraged due its propensity to promote mineral deposits near the concrete surface accelerating deterioration.
