At time of selling a home the owners knew of a foundation problem but did not understand its seriousness. After lifting the flooring they notices foundation cracks. This problem caused separations from sections of the home. In order to sell their home they new this had to be addressed, a design was needed to raise and support the home.
Slab in the areas in the home had voids under them. A process called slab jacking was also necessary to obtain lift and the highest practical maximum for new flooring.
Concrete in various areas needed to be removed to obtain a 3 x 3 x 3 dig to install the piers. Replacement of concrete and dirt fill was also necessary.
During installation, piers were installed six feet on center to allow for an attempt of a foundation lift. Spacing the piers any further will sometimes not allow a lift attempt and are not recommended for raising. Filling voids underneath the slab foundation was completed after pier in-stallation.
The design and construction took place in a few weeks after proposal and allowed the customer to work on his next home project—tile, painting of the walls and replacing the kitchen. This allows the customer the ability to fix the movement before installing other home projects.
